Love Shakespeare? Interested in knowing more about Shakespeare? Scared of Shakespeare? The Raritan Shakespeare reading group might be the group for you. The mission is to make Shakespeare accessible to busy people in central New Jersey who may not have a background in Shakespeare, Renaissance literature, or theater. Anyone can come to read out loud and discuss Shakespeare plays in a relaxed and informal setting. You do not have to be a great orator. This is not a performance group, so it is not necessary to prepare anything before coming. You are not required to read the play beforehand. Please bring your own copy of the play "King Lear". The more you read Shakespeare aloud, the more you LIKE reading Shakespeare aloud. AND seeing it performed. We will review what happened at the beginning of the play before for people just joining in. Please be aware that the Raritan Library does not have a parking lot so give yourself time to find parking on the street (there's never any problem finding parking in Raritan). We limit RSVP's here to four, to allow for the others who sign up via the Libary's site. The reading is led by Donna.
