Every data scientist needs a good understanding of linear algebra as vector space models are ubiquitous in information retrieval, and both supervised and unsupervised learning. The purpose of the talk is to lay a foundation for those data scientists, including aspiring ones, who lack a mathematical background, while providing a refresher for the rest. Everyone is welcome, no requirements. The talk will go on from 6 - 7:30. You can come as early as 5:30 and meet others. You can also stay until 8pm and keep socializing or discussing the material. If you are interested in a job / internship at Aliya, bring those questions as well. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Because of the max occupancy limit to our building, we can only allow 30 people to attend the event at a time. So please RSVP as soon as possible to save yourself a seat! Looking forward to meeting everyone and hope you'll have a great time here!
