It's a minor election this year but we are getting mentally and emotionally ready for November 2020. So....With Election Day 2019 just around the corner we thought we'd do a meetup focused on voting... Does it matter? Is the system fair? Can we fix the parts that are broken? Even if it is broken, should you get out and vote anyway? Listen to these 2 TED TALKS before the meetup: 1. Tiana Epps-Johnson · Civic engagement champion ttps://www.ted.com/talks/tiana_epps_johnson_what_s_needed_to_bring_the_us_voting_system_into_the_21st_century?utm_source=newsletter_daily&utm_campaign=daily&utm_medium=email&utm_content=button__2019-01-23#t[masked] Tiana Epps-Johnson works to make the US election system more modern, inclusive and secure. 2. Eric Liu · Civics educator https://www.ted.com/talks/eric_liu_there_s_no_such_thing_as_not_voting Eric Liu is founder of Citizen University, which teaches the art of powerful citizenship, and the executive director of the Aspen Institute Citizenship & American Identity Program. As always, lite snacks, wine, and get-to-know you chit-chat time starts at 7:30 and at 8:00pm-9:30 we sit down to dialogue about the TED TALKS. $1 meetup fee for website maintenance

PLEASE SIGN UP ONLY IF YOU SERIOUSLY PLAN TO ATTEND.
