Intro to Watercolours Course [Adults. Beginner+]

This course is designed with the beginner in mind, but also welcomes adult learners at all skill-levels. Intended as a space for self-exploration, nurturing creativity, and augmenting of technical skills, this course will offer a friendly and inviting environment. The learning outcomes involve watercolour techniques and their application for landscapes, florals, and fruit. Tickets MUST be bought through Eventbrite:

BASICS | July 2nd Learn about watercolour techniques that can be used widely across several types of paintings such as: washes (which can be used for skies); wet-in-wet as well as wet-on-dry applications (which can be great for flowers); feathering (which is lovely for abstract, backgrounds, and so much more). You will also have the opportunity to test out other creative methods including using salt, straws, splattering, etc. This week will set the foundation for creative potential across the course. LANDSCAPES | July 9th Using techniques learned in the ‘basics’ class, you will learn how to paint three different landscapes styles that are easy and fun for beginners. This will include sunsets on water, starry night skies with trees, and misty mountain ranges. FLORALS | July 16th Using techniques learned in the ‘basics’ class, you will learn how to paint floral designs and flowers using different artistic styles that will invite you to be creative. This will include pansies, poppies, roses, tulips, lavender, lilacs, and delphiniums. FRUIT | July 23rd Using techniques learned in the ‘basics’ class, you will learn how to paint round fruits to help you learn how to capture light, shape, and dimension. This will include oranges, grapes, blueberries, limes/lemons, cherries, and avocado. Important: Are there minimum age requirements for this course? Yes. This class is for adults over the age of 18 (no exceptions). If a ticket is purchased for a child, the ticket will be invalid and no refund or credit will be issued. You have up to 30 days before the event for a full refund. After that time there are no more refunds and no credits (no exceptions). You can however transfer your tickets to someone else. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. But you do need to bring proof of payment to the first day of classes, either the printed ticket, or the emailed ticket. Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes! You are allowed to pass along your ticket to someone else, so long as they present proof of payment. It is recommended to contact the organizer and let them know in order to avoid any possible confusion.
