Gotham Rock Choir: New Member Intro/Rehearsal
mer. 22 mai à 01:00
Gotham Rock Choir is accepting new members for its next cycle, running from May-August 2019! Some helpful info:
--GRC runs in "cycles" (think terms or semesters). Our new cycle (Cycle 27) begins now and runs through August, culminating in an end-of-cycle concert at an off-Broadway theatre. Rehearsals are once a week, on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 PM. Please be sure that you're available for this day and time each week--we ask that our members miss no more than 3 rehearsals over the course of the cycle. -- GRC repertoire includes an eclectic mix of pop, rock and soul songs from the 60s to today, as well as related genres. Some of the artists we've covered in the past: Queen, Bon Jovi, The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and too many others to list. We tend to focus primarily on well-known hits that will get our audiences out of their seats! Music-reading skills and previous choral experience are not required--all you need is a good ear, a passion for singing and an appreciation of pop/rock music. Many solo/small group opportunities for especially talented vocalists. --GRC is a performing choir. Each cycle includes a Cabaret Evening, where our members can perform their own favorite tunes as solos/duets/small groups, as well as a full choir concert held at the end of the Cycle. In addition, we may be doing some outside gigs. Previous outside gigs have included backing up the National Tour of "Rocktopia" with Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Constantine Maroulis ("American Idol"), singing with Universal Music recording artists The Tenors at NYC's Town Hall and on NBC's "Today Show" with Kathie Lee & Hoda, plus various performances at Madison Square Garden, Barclay Center, the New York City Veteran's Day Parade, the Knitting Factory and the New York Stock Exchange Christmas Tree Lighting. See our website at GothamRockChoir.com for more info on joining GRC.
