MT. TAURUS HIKE IN THE HUDSON HIGHLANDS
Aujourd'hui, 19 mai à 17:00
This is a moderate, 7 mile hike up to Mt. Taurus in the Hudson Highlands state park. We will hike a little over 2.5 miles before stopping at an overlook which has a broad view over the Hudson River. From the overlook you can see Constitution Island, and the United States Military Academy at West Point. On a clear day, you can see the Bear Mountain Bridge down the river in the distance. From their we will continue on to the summit of Mt. Taurus, which has limited views, before following a loop down and ending at the trailhead. From there we will stop in Cold Spring for food and drinks for anyone who would like to hang out. The weather is supposed to be amazing so hopefully we will be able to find a place with outdoor seating. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Also bring snacks, as we will not be eating lunch in town until around 2PM. For those traveling by train, please take the 9:32am train from Grand Central Terminal and get off at Cold Spring Station. We will gather at Cold Spring Station at 11:00 (in front of the Cold Spting Depot), and walk the mile to the Cornish Estate Trail Loop trailhead before starting down the trail.
