The French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre said “Better to die on one's feet than to live on one's knees.” This Saturday, we will meet to talk about AUTHENTICITY. What does this idea mean, and how important is it to living a full life? I will prepare an introductory discussion of how certain philosophers - including Jean-Paul Sartre and Ralph Waldo Emerson - have talked about this. We will do a little exercise together. And we will think deeper about our lives, while getting to know each other and having a good time! EDIT: We will be meeting at The Roost Cafe at 222 Ave B, since our original location has to close this weekend due to plumbing work! Find me in the middle room (second room after the first one you enter). I'll have a stack of philosophy books with me so you can identify me :-)
