MANDATORY RSVP HERE: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/examining-crypto-economics-meetup-tickets-60299237643 Cryptoeconomic incentives are now used in a range of important functions - transactions, computation, storage, prediction, power. They offer us fundamentally new ways of incentivising human behavior, in areas that we would never previously have thought possible. However, we’ve barely scratched the surface of their potential and the concept of cryptoeconomics is still largely foreign to the majority of people. This event will see leading experts talk you through the theory behind cryptoeconomic models and their design. Join more than 50 other blockchain leaders on the 15th of May to build your understanding of this vital area and enjoy lively discussion, beer and pizza with other professionals and crypto enthusiasts. You’ll hear from startups leading the way in the field, who will showcase a framework and case studies for cryptoeconomic design. These will include Nervos - the Nervos Common Knowledge Base (CKB) is a public permissionless blockchain that generalises Bitcoin's UTXO model to support tokens and smart contracts. It is designed to be a sustainable, preservation-focused smart contract platform. Early supporters of Nervos include China Merchants Bank, Sequoia Capital and Polychain. Also speaking will be representatives from Prysm Group, who specialise in economic and governance design for distributed ledger-based projects, and Livepeer, who are creating a scalable Platform-as-a-Service for developers who want to add live or on-demand video to their project. SPEAKERS:

Kevin Wang, co-founder of the Nervos Network and the principal author of Nervos' cryptoeconomics design. He will discuss cryptoeconomic design for a preservation-focused Layer 1 blockchain. Dr. Stephanie Hurder, Partner and Founding Economist of Prysm Group. She will discuss why a holistic approach to economic design - including insights from fields as diverse as social choice theory, game theory, contract theory, and market design - is essential for blockchain organisations. Dr. Hurder will also discuss how major tech companies such as Microsoft, Google, and eBay have leveraged these insights for over a decade to improve the performance of their marketplaces, and discuss areas of blockchain and economics that are ripe for future innovation. Eric Tang, co-founder and CTO of Livepeer. He will discuss the use of incentives in creating decentralised video infrastructure. SCHEDULE:
