Mindfulness, Gentle Movement and Guided Meditation

This session includes a three part series of mindfulness, gentle movement and guided meditation. Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. And there’s growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodelling the physical structure of your brain. Gentle movement done with intentional enjoyment helps the body to loosen up, feelings of stress ease up, and the mind begin to to clear. Guided meditation involves focusing the mind on the present moment and being self-aware, both of which can be difficult. Following the voice and instruction of a guide provides an opportunity from intruding thoughts and develops skills for your focus, concentration and awareness to grow. “Through meditation one reaches the unbounded.
