Caroline, or Change
sam. 18 mai à 20:00
This notice is to create a new event for us on Sat. May 18th at 2 pm (get there around 1:30 for good seats, though). This is for another APAC show, which is Caroline, or Change. Here is a description of the play:
Set in one of the most turbulent decades in America's history, the Tony-nominated Caroline, or Change tells the riveting story of a remarkable but uneasy friendship between a young Jewish boy and his family's Black maid in 1963 Louisiana. The score blends blues, gospel, and traditional Jewish melodies, creating a breathtaking tapestry for Tony Kushner's (Angels in America) provocative and deeply moving libretto, which tells the story of a country on the brink of change.
APAC always does professional shows with mostly equity actors. In addition, there is a BUY EARLY and GET $5 OFF tickets offer again. but it is only available online and only through April 19th! If you want to try for that, please go to the apacny.org site for further details (call them if there is a problem finding it). You must use the code EARLYBIRD where it asks about discount codes. BUT, even without the discount the prices are very reasonable at $25 general or $20 Senior/Student. Feel free to bring family and friends.
Please note that after you order your tickets from APAC, you should also indicate on the Red Hats site that you are going, so we can try to save seats together. Be sure to add extra attendee numbers if you are bringing others.
The show will be held at the Broccoli Theater at the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens [masked]th Road at 21st Street and 30th Road). If you plan on using the Q102 bus, they may still be having shuttle buses under that N train that do not go down 30th Ave, so you will either have to walk a bit once you hit 30th Avenue or find an alternate route. The Q69, for example, heads down 21st St. and you would get off at 30th Road. Hope to see you there.
