Julian Assange & the National Security State: Teetering Toward Totalitarianism?
sam. 4 mai à 19:30
When he was arrested this week, Julian Assange carried a copy of History of the National Security State, a collection of interviews with Gore Vidal on alternative versions of history, how the security state under which we're all living has been decades in the making, and much more. Is freedom of the press being destroyed? Is Assange really just a computer hacker? This is not just a US issue, as several countries were/are involved. Apparently, there's a connection to the International Monetary Fund, as well. Have we all been asleep at the wheel, while our rights are taken away? Is it too late? Is there nothing to be concerned about? Do we have nothing to fear when government crimes are exposed --- even if a foreign government or two are involved? This is an important group of topics that merits some thoughtful, intelligent discussion over a cup of tea or wine. Let's read and discuss! Or bring your facts. If any of you have an area of expertise related to this, be sure to attend. We'd love for you to educate us! The Kindle version of this book is $2 or 1,77€. You don't need a Kindle to read it. Read on your mobile devices. Also Kindle free trial gets you the book for free. The paperback is $10. Location is TBD until we get an idea of the number of people coming.
