NYC- Mondays Gentle Exercises to Music for Pain & Well-Being

Enjoy moving to the sound of music while practicing gentle therapeutic exercises in a small and safe group setting. In this workshop we educate and train participants in gentle and safe exercises done in sitting and standing positions. Relaxation exercises and guided imagery will enhance the experience. This workshop is geared toward people who suffer (minimally to moderately) from musculoskeletal disorders such as neck and back pain as well as shoulder, hands, knees and ankle strains, Fibromyalgia and Parkinson. Try your first session free. Dr. Rivi Har-El RPT, PhD (www.DrRivi.com) leads the workshop. She pays attention to each participant's need. The atmosphere is one of support and gentle care, emphasizing not trying to push the body, but listening to your body and being more aware of your abilities and respecting the motions and postures that you can attain. During the session we will practice various therapeutic modalities, including posture education, gentle repetitive motions in sitting, standing and walking positions, balance and coordination exercises as well as stretching and strengthening exercises. All done to an upbeat rhythm and familiar pleasant music. You will leave the session in a better mood and equipped with home program exercises you can practice on a daily basis. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early since we start exactly on time.
