Building a knowledge graph for data driven science The BlueBrain Nexus is an open source, provenance based, semantic enabled data management platform built at EPFL that facilitates data transformation into a fully searchable linked-data graph. It is an implementation of a distributed system built with Akka components and the Typelevel ecosystem (Cats, Shapeless, Circe, Monix...) It is used at EPFL as part of the Blue Brain Project to support building biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the rodent, and ultimately the human brain.
The goal of the talk is to go through some of the key design decisions that were taken when building the system, some of the pitfalls encountered and concrete examples of how the chosen technology was used. About the team
