With meditation, we intend to focus on peace, love and unity for ourselves and the world. The largest organized group of Black/Indigenous women meditating at one time in the world. Black/Indigenous women all over the world joined together in collective meditation and self-care. May 11th is the day before Mother’s Day, the day where we all show our mothers how much we love and appreciate them. In the meantime, there is a worldwide epidemic in which Black women are dying in childbirth at a higher rate than any other women. Additionally, Black women are the most likely to die from homicide, gun violence and breast cancer. Black trans women risk losing their lives every time they step foot outside of their homes. So I ask… how can we show that we appreciate women when the matriarchs of humanity are dying at astronomical rates? We chose the day before Mother’s Day to celebrate Black Women’s Day of Meditation because we want to show honor to women in the way that makes the most sense… healing and self care. We will meet together to meditate, talk about self healing and enjoy some yummy snacks. Learn more about the day: https://www.blackwomensdayofmeditation.com/
