Yin Yoga (for all levels of practitioners) works on opening the intricate webbing of connective tissue that connects our muscles helping increase overall flexibility. Yin is a cooling, passive practice in which postures are held comfortably with the support of props for 3-5 minutes, postures must be held a longer length of time to allow connective tissues to expand, helping increase overall flexibility. Yin opens up these deep, dense, rarely addressed areas, increasing flexibility, range of motion and healing past injuries. Holding deep, relaxing, hip, hamstring, shoulder, and IT band opening postures enhancing the body’s relaxation response to allow for deep releases of muscle tension and stress. Leaving the body feeling open, relaxed and renewed.
