Writing the Deaf Experience: A Workship with Christopher Heuer

Deaf author Christopher Heuer will visit Stony Brook University to speak about writing within the deaf community and to promote a recent compilation of works by deaf and hard of hearing writers. Then, he will help people write their stories. Christopher Heuer is an English professor at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., and has been there for around 20 years. He is fluent in ASL. Christopher Heuer is also the author of two books: "Tripping the Tale Fantastic: Weird Fiction by Deaf and Hard of Hearing Writers" and "BUG: Deaf Identity and Internal Revolution."
