Staten Island Geological Society presentation on "The Pacific Ring of Fire"
sam. 15 décembre à 01:30
This event is being repeated for December due to a problem with the facility last month since no lecture was held! The Pacific Ocean is geologically the most dangerous region on Earth. It contains more than 500 active volcanoes and is the cause of about 75% of the world's devastating and deadly earthquakes. Learn what this largest tectonic plate is all about and why its movement is a hazard to civilization. This presentation will be given by Prof. Steve Okulewicz from the Department of Geology and Environmental Sustainability at Hofstra University, Long Island, New York.
