Tracing the Energetic Body: An Evening of Reiki & Intuitive Art Making
dim. 16 décembre à 20:00
Please join Visual Artist Alice Shockey and Art Therapist Robyn Olds for an afternoon of meditation, art making, and Reiki in collaboration with Glowing Heart Reiki School. Exchange // $25 ($20 before 12/10) mixed-media art supplies and paper provided. This workshop is open to Reiki practitioners who are looking to develop an integration of visual art into their Reiki practice, and in connecting with an internal experience of imagery and sensation as we envision ourselves in the new year. We will be leading you through a clairvoyant body-scan meditation that will help you to visually map your internal experience and to explore what imagery and sensations arise in the body.
Throughout this process of meditation and art-making we can notice how our internal experience wants to shift and expand as we create a version of ourselves that we envision in 2019. We'll be exchanging Reiki and offering these internal shifts impetus as we come into ourselves and begin to call in a new year. Please join us for a dinner out in Greenpoint afterwards as we continue to connect and celebrate new beginnings! About
Robyn Olds, MPS, LCAT is a New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Advanced Reiki Practitioner. She received her master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy and Creativity Development at Pratt Institute and her advanced Reiki training at Maha Rose Center for Healing in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She has been combining both of these modalities in monthly groups devoted to exploring the healing potential of visual Intuition and image making in Reiki treatment. She also leads I Ching art groups exploring synchronicity and archetypal patterns. Alice Shockey is a Visual Artist and Reiki Practitioner. She graduated from Oberlin College with a BA in Studio Art and received her Reiki level 1 and 2 Attunements at Maha Rose Center for Healing, where she also leads Art Themed Community Reiki. During a Healer Mentorship with Lisa Levine, Alice began to combine her visual art and Reiki practice, exploring a creative process of image making that emerged more from the body directly than from the mind.
Alice has suffered from Lyme disease since early childhood, and it wasn’t until she began practicing Reiki and integrating it into her creative process, that she found empowerment and confidence in her ability to heal. Alongside her partner and Creative Art Therapist Robyn Olds, Alice is currently holding workshops in Brooklyn that combine Reiki and embodied meditation with a body tracing exercise that visually maps the individual experience.
