Afterwork Session: SCYTHE
jeu. 6 décembre à 19:00
SCYTHE is an Anti-War, hybrid game, which has some 4X elements and also mixes other game mechanics like Worker Placement, Area Control / Area Influence, Grid Movement, Mancala, Variable Player Powers, into one single enormously brilliant and super fun game. SCYTHE won the Golden Geek Award 2016 (for Board Game of the Year, Artwork & Presentation, Solo Game, Strategy Game, Thematic Game) and the highly regarded Tabletop game award from Cannes, France: As d’Or Expert 2017. Some say it is the Spiel des Jahrhunderts (Best game of the century). I think it's a pretty accurate statement and I comfortably agree with it ;) More details: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/169786/scythe SUMMARY Theme: 1920’s alternate history Europe. The continent has emerged from a great war surrounding the mysterious factory city state that previous supplied the countries surrounding it with machines of war called Mechs. Now the factory has closed its doors, a race to secure the highly desirable land has begun. Objective: Once one person places their 6th achievement star, the game ends and we score coins for each star placed, each territory controlled, each resource left over and score a building bonus. Combined with the coins at the end of the game whoever has the most amount wins. Actions: On your turn you can move your action selection piece to any of the four sections of your action board. You cannot choose the same action twice, i.e. you must move your action selection piece to a new section of your board. You then optionally do the top action followed by the bottom action in that order. The four top actions are Move, Produce, Bolster and Trade. The four bottom actions are Deploy (Mech), Enlist, Build and Upgrade. The top actions are either free or cost coins and are identical across action boards where the bottom actions always cost resources and these costs are different across action boards. The four resources are Food, Oil, Metal and Wood and each territory produces one of these (except for territories which are villages, these create extra workers.) We play with the "Invaders from AFAR" and "The Wind Gambit" expansions
