Little excerpt from our Meetup's description, just in case: ################################################################

This meetup is for people who wants to practice speaking English while playing board games. The games we play are chosen accordingly: they must not be too difficult to get into, provide a lot of opportunities for discussions and debates, have very little downtime, and not require too much setup time. An example of such game would be Secret Hitler, in which the ability of players to argument is key. Pandemic is another example, with the players having to form and discuss strategies to achieve a collective victory. Conversely, chess would not provide any conversational context and is thus out of the question. So is Monopoly, because the verbal exchanges between players follow patterns too simple to be of interest. Note that, due to the nature of the games we play, being able to hold a conversation in English is a de facto requirement for participants. This implies having at least a B2 level, or something close enough. ################################################################ Depending on our numbers and what is available at the bar, we should be able to play either:

  • Pandemic

  • Secret Hitler

  • Sheriff of Nottingham I'll pay for BlastoDice's 2 euros per person attendance fee, but I can't bring food or drinks there, so you'll have to buy those for yourself. Have fun! PS: The Doodle for December's first (and only) session ( https://doodle.com/poll/idxru8tzzchh8s44 ) is still open.
