In 2017, we helped feed more than 600 families in need. Since we became a 501C3, we have now fed over 10,000 people. We also helped shelters for families in crisis in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Westchester. This is all thanks to you. Please help us serve even more families this year! We are a 501(c)3 and your donation is 100% tax deductible. For many of us, the Thanksgiving holiday has long been a tradition of spending time with our families, eating opulently, watching sporting games and perhaps taking an afternoon nap. And although we cherish this time spent with family over a delicious meal; What happened to the Giving part of Thanksgiving? Countless families struggle to create a special Thanksgiving experience for their children, because of lack of means. And many of the families that need the most help also have too much pride to ‘raise their hand’ for help. Thinking of the children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents who would not be able to take the day to celebrate it the way most of us will – full of food and joy is heartbreaking. And it’s with that, our focus changed to create an amazing experience for those families and children by personally delivering food baskets to them. We want to personally reach out to you and ask you to join our efforts in feeding a struggling family on this Thanksgiving. Every year members of the NYPowerteam and NYC Basket Brigade put together beautifully filled baskets of food and personally deliver them to designated families in need – showing them that strangers do in fact care. Besides the experience we will be creating for the families, an equally, if not stronger experience will be gifted to you and I as the GIVERS. "Between the Gifted and the Giver; the greatest gift goes to the latter." -> To Donate, simply go to http://www.nycbasketbrigade.com/donate-now/ <- Now although we will be focused on gathering food, the true gift isn’t in the items. The true gift we will be giving is HOPE. Hope that the world is full of good and hard times will not last. The gift to us, the givers, is: in spite of all of our stress and problems we feel, we’re already wealthy inside and have everything we need. And by giving, we fill our hearts with more love than we can handle. "A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great." - Proverb There are several ways you can help. Most people donate a basket which costs $50. The NYC Basket Brigade is a 501C3 Nonprofit so your entire donation is tax deductible. In order to purchase all the needed groceries to make this a success, please donate today or by this Friday. Get involved and make the delivery from either Brooklyn or Westchester by going to http://www.nycbasketbrigade.com/details-logistics/ For the Brooklyn Basket Brigade - The Brownsville (Greg Jackson Center) address is 519 Rockaway Ave, Brooklyn, New York. At that Brooklyn location, the families in need will be picking up the Baskets directly. Finally, we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generosity in helping create a magical Thanksgiving day for families that need our help. With gratitude!
