Creamy Pumpkin Pie (Saturday)
Aujourd'hui, 17 nov. à 06:00
This month we will be making one of the favorite holiday desserts from the U.S....pumpkin pie! While most people making pumpkin pie where I'm from just use canned pumpkin puree, we will be making ours from scratch, starting with fresh pumpkin. This pie is delightfully spicy, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and more. It's the perfect addition to any holiday meal, and makes a perfect treat on its own, as well. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have during the lesson. I recommend bringing an apron, a small hand towel, and a notebook if you want to take extensive notes. I will be passing out copies of the recipe, so you can make notes directly on that sheet, if you like. After we get our pies into the oven, we can take a break to enjoy some tea and some conversation, as well as some pie I will have made in advance for us. For those who are wanting to practice their English, this is a good chance! Discussion topics do not need to be only related to cooking. Feel free to bring up any topic you desire. Once the pies are finished, you can stay and enjoy them fresh out of the oven, or we can wrap them up to send home. Class fee is 4500 yen, in cash on the day. I do not charge a cancellation fee, but if you make a habit of cancelling last minute or don't show without any notice, you may not be allowed to join in the future. I have referral cards that you can give to your friends. If someone you refer joins a class, your next class will be 20% off. Also, I will provide a stamp card. After your 6th time joining, your next class will be 50% off! Lessons are open to anyone age 14 and up. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. As we will be dealing with a hot oven and possibly knives for some recipes and it could be dangerous, I ask that smaller children please be left with another guardian. I will check my messages frequently leading up to the class, if there are any questions. *If you have any food allergies, please be sure to inform me, so that I can check if the recipe is okay for you.
