Mats are available in the studio. Have been wondering how to stand up on your head? This headstand pose or Sirsana is popular among the yoga asana world. Everybody seems attract to able to do it. This ‘trend’ is not really a wonder. The headstand has a status of ‘The King of Yoga Asanas’, as a King it is indeed attracts the yoga asanas practitioner to master it. It’s a challenge posture, not only physically but most of it, mentally challenging. In some yoga schools or lineage, headstand could come first at the beginning of the practice and other school puts it at the end of the practice. We will put it in our discussion to find the benefits of the posture and other discussion to practice safely. We will learn the detail components of this posture, preparation, learning modifications and finally get into the posture. Please also consider the contraindications or cautions below, for your consideration before you take this workshop :
High blood pressure
Menstruation on 1st or 2nd day
Low blood pressure: Don't start practice with this pose
Pregnancy: If you are experienced with this pose, you can continue to practice it late into pregnancy.
