Monthly Meetup: Exploring The Impact of Parental Relationships
jeu. 28 mars à 23:30
Please use the link to RSVP: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unapologetically-me-womens-meetup-tickets-52187088988 Our parental relationships are the first impressions and models of relationships that we have growing up. As children we spend the majority of our time with our parents, so it’s not surprising that we would engage in behaviors and patterns similar to them. Particularly if we try to avoid doing so. For instance, you might told yourself “I never want to be like my mom”. Then you become a parent and find yourself doing the same things your mom used to do, the things you said you would never do. Or you might have dated someone with qualities similar to your dad. During this meetup, we'll explore the impact of parental relationships on our self-esteem, self-image, self-worth, and beliefs in general. We'll explore our most significant experiences and memories growing up, in order to develop an understanding of how they are still playing out in our adult lives. As some of us might be holding onto anger or resentment towards our parents, or may even be dealing with the loss of a parent, we'll discuss ways to heal ourselves and give ourselves we the love we desire, understanding that our parents did the best they could with what they had. If you feel you are struggling in your current relationships as a result of your parental relationships, join us for an insightful and empowering conversation!
