High Line + Art + Chelsea Market
sam. 9 mars 2019 à 19:00
It's time for Spring Forward. Let's get ready for nicer weather, with an urban hike. For this one, have your camera ready to catch some great photos of the city skyline. The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design. For this one you should be prepared to walk a couple of miles on mostly flat surfaces. Wear sneakers or comfortable shoes. Dress in layers. You also may want to bring a bottle of water. If it is cold we will shorten our time on the High Line and visit some of Chelsea's art galleries. Snow or heavy rain will cancel this meetup. For more Information on the High Line: https://www.thehighline.org/ After the High Line, if time allows, we'll spend some time exploring the nearby Chelsea Art Galleries. For those who would like something to eat or a drink: We'll close out our day at Chelsea Market. Chelsea Market is one of NYC's most popular food halls. There is something there for almost everything. And even if you don't want anything to eat the building does have some cool architecture. For more information: http://chelseamarket.com/ We will wait in front of the coffee place for about 15 minutes before heading towards the High Line. If you want to use the restroom or purchase coffee/snacks please arrive early to do so. If have trouble spotting me my cell is[masked]. Anyone arriving after that who arrives after the 15 minutes who wants to socialize with the group will be responsible for finding us. (The same rule applies to anyone who decides to stop somewhere along the way). In the case of light rain or extreme cold we will spend more time at the galleries instead of the High Line. Snow or pouring rain will cancel this meetup.
