Hot Chocolate, A Walk thru Gramercy & Pierogies
sam. 23 février 2019 à 20:00
Since February is National Chocolate Month so let's indulge a little bit. We will start our afternoon at City Bakery. City Bakery is infamous for their hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows. Each day in February they have a different special flavor of hot chocolate. They also have delectable cookies, brownies, and other sweet treats. For more information: http://thecitybakery.com/ Once we've grabbed our goodies we will enjoy a walk through one of New York City's most beautiful neighborhoods, Gramercy. We will start by swinging slightly north, walking past one of the city's first, and most distinct skyscrapers, the Flatiron Building. In fact, it was so popular when it when first built, a entire neighborhood was named after it. Before, turning down into Gramercy we will walk a bit thru Madison Square Park. We walk past Irving Place, and Gramercy Park which has some of the most beautiful architecture in the city. If it is cold (and they have an exhibit) we will duck inside the Salmagundi Art Club. If it is warm enough, and time allows we can also walk thru the east village which has some fascinating history. Once we work up an appetite for those that are interested we will head over to Veselka (they have a lot more than just pierogies). Please bear in mind we will probably have to wait for a table. (I don't have a set time for us to arrive, and I have no idea how many people would wait to eat. Therefore I have no reservation.) Information on Veleska: https://www.veselka.com/ FYI: We will be purchasing everything from to City Bakery - To Go. If you choose to sit down and still want to join us for the walk YOU will be responsible for catching up. Please Note: We will not be waiting for everyone to use the restroom at City Bakery. If you want to order something there please use leave enough time to do so before meeting the group.
