Join us for a special program on Hawks, Falcons, Eagles, and Owls. Learn about behavior, biology, migration, and where to find many species. Activities include indoor slide programs and a visit to the Hawk Watch platform at Fort Tilden. On hand will be a presentation of live hawks and owls brought by a local rehabilitation center.

9:45 – Registration, coffee, donuts
10am – Welcome ( NPS Superintendent)
10:15 – Jamaica Bay Raptor Management Program
(Don Riepe, American Littoral Society)
11am – Live Hawks and Owls plus children’s program.
12noon – Lunch ( bring your own or visit deli in Broad Channel) *1pm – Car Pool / van to Fort Tilden Hawk Watch Platform to observe migrating hawks, falcons, osprey, harriers, and maybe a Bald Eagle.
We’ll also look for migrating Monarch Butterflies. 3:30pm – return to refuge *This special program is a partnership between NYC Audubon, Gateway NRA, Jamaica Bay/Rockaway Parks Conservancy and the American Littoral Society.
