Measuring the Impact of 'Nonresponse' and How Does Calibration Work? JOIN US for a wonderful evening of learning, with presentations given by Mike Dennis, Senior Vice President at NORC and Executive Director of AmeriSpeak, and Ipek Bilgen, Senior Research Methodologist at NORC. Some segments of society — such as low-income households, social and political conservatives, youth, rural households and less-educated people — can be harder to reach and routinely are undercounted in research. AmeriSpeak’s method of outreach to initial nonrespondents and its impact on final data will be discussed. This new methodology of melding probability and non-probability samples illustrates how to survey groups of small incidence. Ipek will discuss the results of their study of initial non-respondents and how following-up with them leads to different, more inclusive numbers. Mike will explain how cost and sample size don’t need to preclude accuracy. He will further describe how calibration works and provide case studies of its use. WHERE Global Strategy Group
