Center Bar with Pianist Janice Friedman!
jeu. 18 octobre à 23:30
For those of us who attended the Ladies of Jazz performance at Club Bonafide, and were mesmerized by the stunningly talented pianist, Janice Friedman (who stole the show!), I have excellent news to report! Janice will be performing her own show at Center Bar in the Time Warner Building. I have secured a reservation for Thurs Oct. 18th – just two weeks from when we were first introduced to Janice. This time Janice will be performing solo! There is no cover charge for the performance. A food and drink menu can be viewed by using this link: https://www.centerbarnyc.com/ If you were fortunate to see Janice the first time, I am sure you’ll want to see her again. For those Amazing Women who have not seen Janice perform, you’ll be happy to meet her and enjoy her talent! Check her out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DEdAkkK9lE Either way, you’ll be in a beautiful space with delicious food and drink, and great views. And best of all, you’ll be in the company of some Amazing Women of NYC! Hope to see you there! Warm Regards,
Jeana ABOUT JANICE FRIEDMAN Janice Friedman established her career path early on — fed (by her pianist mother) a diet of Errol Garner, Oscar Peterson, Marian McPartland, Bill Evans and Ahmad Jamal; playing organ and then piano before starting kindergarten; seriously studying classical piano and then jazz piano while playing for school and private events well before high school. After earning a jazz studies degree from Indiana University and touring with the Woody Herman Orchestra, she made her way back to her native New York, soon appearing at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Town Hall and many of Manhattan’s famed jazz clubs, and eventually touring with pianist Marian McPartland’s as well as performing on her NPR show Piano Jazz. Janice is currently at work on an original musical, Survival of the Fittest. Whether by sheer stubbornness, artistic wizardry, or good fortune, she’s still making music that moves us through all the twists and turns of a century of jazz piano, judiciously adding human voice to a keyboard that never stops talking.
