The North Woods is the largest of the Park's woodlands, offering people and wildlife a 40-acre forest retreat in the middle of New York City. Today we’ll take a guided walking tour through the Central Park North Woods with a Central Park Urban Park Ranger. Afterwards, we’ll head to a local venue for coffee or a drink and a bite to eat and a chance to get to know each other better. Tickets are Extremely Limited, so get yours as quickly as possible before the tour sells out. Hope to see you there!
Jeana TOUR HIGHLIGHTS This tour of the North Woods will take us away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We’ll walk around tumbling waterfalls, rustic bridges, and picturesque pools. Highlights include the Harlem Meer, Huddlestone Arch, the Loch, Glen Span Arch, and the Pool. ABOUT OUR TOUR GUIDE This tour will be led by one of Central Park’s Urban Park Rangers. This tour is 1 ½ hours long, and the terrain, while mostly flat, does include a few inclines, some stairs, and wood-chipped trails. Ticket sales are final (policy of Central Park tours). Tours take place rain or shine, except in extreme weather conditions. THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE TOUR. Amazing Women will be sharing space with others, but we’ll come together as a group beforehand at 1:45 pm (look for me and my Amazing Women of NYC sign) to meet each other, and those able to spend more time afterwards will share a bite to eat in the neighborhood and get to know each other better. HOW TO FIND US We will meet at 1:45 pm in front of the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center INSIDE the Park. I’ll be holding a sign for Amazing Women of NYC. Enter Central Park on Central Park North (W 110th Street), just across from the Lincoln Correctional Facility at 31 West 110th Street. The Park entrance on W 110th Street (Central Park North) – is located between Fifth Avenue and Lenox Avenue (Malcolm X Blvd). Please do not be late; the tour starts promptly at 2:00 pm. Please don’t forget to bring your ticket confirmation with you. HOW TO GET HERE Please consult with the MTA for subway schedules and routing changes! SUBWAY #6 train to 110th Street station. Exit via Lexington Avenue & 110th Street at NE corner. From here, it’s a 10 minute walk. Walk west along 110th Street (Tito Puente Way) to Central Park. Continue along 110th Street (which becomes Central Park North). Entrance to the Park is just across from the Lincoln Correctional Facility at 31 West 110th Street. The Discovery Center will be inside the Park. #2 or #3 train to 110th Street. Exit via Lenox Avenue & 111th Street at NW corner. From here it’s a 3 minute walk. Walk one block south to 110th Street (Central Park North). Walk east along 110th Street. Entrance to the Park is just across from the Lincoln Correctional Facility at 31 West 110th Street. The Discovery Center will be inside the Park.
