Mark Ryan was an influential radical Marxist in the UK in the 1990s and was a central member of the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP). Ryan wrote regularly for Living Marxism, the magazine of the RCP and Spiked, its spiritual successor. In 2000 Ryan became a co-founder and director of the Institute of Ideas, a London based think tank. An Irishman and leading commentator on the Northern Ireland political situation, Ryan published “War and Pace in Ireland” in 1994. Today Ryan lives in London with his wife and daughter. Our guest speaker series returns with our fourth guest speaker, Mark Ryan, who will be joining us via video conference from London. Our presentation will begin at 9pm with an overview of some of Ryan’s work and history, before we join the man himself for an open discussion.
