Dear,

after this long hot summer, time has come to launch our second PowerAI meetup, most of which will be animated by one of the top specialists in Europe.

In the first meetup we had an overview of the possibilities offered by the combination of IBM and Nvidia technologies for DL and ML. Our second meeting will offer a deeper-going view on implementation, optimization and use cases, as illustrated by the agenda : 18:00 - 18:30 - Welcome 18:30 - Quick overview of PowerAI-related announcements since meetup#1 18:50 - Working with TensorFlow on PowerAI :

• Including demos, videos and use cases 20:30 - Wrap Up and Close, followed by refreshments and pizzas Our Presenters : Jean-Armand Broyelle (IBM AI Competence Center, IBM France)

Jean-Armand is the Technical Leader of the IBM Cognitve System Lab team based in the European IBM Client Center located in Montpellier France. He holds an Engineer degree in Math and IT technology from the ENSEEIHT based in Toulouse/France. In 1998, when IBM acquired Sequent Systems where he was a NUMA-Q Professional Expert, he joined the Montpellier POWER Benchmark Center as Performance Optimization Expert. In 2005 he became technical leader of this group of 18 specialists. In 2016, Jean-Armand created and led the European Center of Competency to grow the Partners adoption of OpenPOWER hardware accelerated solutions. Since mid-2017, he is the technical leader from the Cognitive Systems Labs in Montpellier Client Center to support the adoption of ML/DL IBM Systems Solutions in Europe. Franz Bourlet (IBM Belgium)

Franz is is a Client Technical Sales Specialist for IBM POWER Systems in Belgium. He holds a master degree in German philology and one in business management. He joined IBM in 1988 and immediately specialized in POWER systems (then called AS/400), in various roles. After an experience in storage solutions, Franz came back to his roots in 2013, this time with a stronger focus on Linux and open source solutions on POWER. Franz has over 20 years of practical experience with Linux and open source, on POWER, x86 and ARM architectures. He is both a Certified Linux Administrator and a certified POWER specialist.
