City Streets: Documenting Progress | October 6th 3-5 pm
Instructor: Dannie Dinh (Columbia University) The act of photographing forces a close observation of the subject as well as enabling some visual evidence and portrayal of the subject. To photograph the city streets is to document the history, interactions, cultures, and changes of those communities—and perhaps to inform the city’s future sustainable designs. This workshop will provide a brief presentation on the photo-documentation of the rapidly changing city, and a 40 min photo-taking tour around the neighborhood, hosted by researcher and artist Dannie Dinh. Photo-enthusiasts and photo-takers of all skill levels are welcomed. Please bring a camera you are comfortable using—whether it be a smart phone, disposable camera, or digital SLR. Civic Art Lab | October 5th-7th, 2018 This workshop is part of Civic Art Lab 2018 is the fourth iteration of our design and sustainability lab, held in the gallery and workshop space Chinatown Soup between October 5th and 7th, 2018.
