Trip is a go. We are going from March 22nd to March 31st to Canada. I have booked my flights in and out of Calgary. The plan is to fly into Calgary BC on Friday or Saturday and get a rental car to Revelstoke. Do 3 days in Revelstoke then head over on Monday night to Kicking Horse for 2 days, then 3 days of skiing between Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. We will head over on Saturday night to Calgary. Fly back to NY on Sunday. This is not a beginner friendly ski trip. Revelstoke and Kicking Horse are super steep resorts. Some of the blue runs are steeper in Kicking Horse than on most double blacks in Vermont. Also the most fun runs at some of the resorts are the tree runs so you should be able to ski at least blue rated trees. Intermediate skiers will be fine. Details: I am flying out on Friday March 15 on WestJet Flight 1681 departing JFK at 17h20 and arriving at 20h42 in YYC. My return flight is on Sunday March 24 on Delta 7645 departing YYC at 11h30. Connecting in Toronto to Delta flight 7146 which lands in LGA at 21h08. You don't need to be on the same fights as me but I would like everyone to be in Calgary by either Friday night or Saturday afternoon the latest. There are a few direct flights including a new WestJet flight this year from JFK directly to YYC and back. The return flight would ideally be on Saturday night once the resorts close or Sunday morning or afternoon. I will stay in Calgary on Saturday night. I want to hang out in the city. If most people decide to fly in on Saturday morning or afternoon, I will go ski on Saturday at Sunshine Village and wait for you guys with the car at Banff. There are hourly buses from the Calgary airport to Banff. I can pick you guys up there and head over to Revelstoke on Saturday night. If we have more than 4 of us in the car then someone will have to get a second or even third car if we end up being 10 to 12. I haven't booked the car rentals or hotels yet. I will wait until almost everyone is booked and then depending on the size of our group book things accordingly. Any questions please reply here or contact me directly. I want to coordinate with those of you coming on flights and such so please if you are RSVP make sure you are definitely coming. This will be an epic trip. On the last trip I had 5 fresh powder days out of 8. Lots of fresh powder every single day. Untracked trees all over the place. Costs: Flights are around $400 round trip right now to Calgary. Hotels will be about $50 a night on average per person. So about $400 in hotels. We will share Queen beds if it's cheaper or you can pay more if you want your own bed. But we can sort that out once everything is booked. Rental will be about $100 to $200 per person with gas depending on how many people come. I am on Ikon Pass so all the mountains except for Kicking Horse are included in my ski pass. This is a good trip for Ikon pass holders. If you are not please you will have to get your own tickets.
