Princeton Walk: Princeton Univ., Beautiful Mansions/Houses & Historical People
dim. 7 octobre à 19:05
This walk (on Columbus Day Weekend) in Princeton NJ is on a scenic route filled with interesting places. I will occasionally stop at points of interest and comment on some things (architecture, history), but you will have plenty of time to socialize with others. The cost of this event is $4 per person, which is paid at the start of the walk. This is for the organizer's Meetup preparation costs and fees. (Please read the "About Us Section" for more information regarding the $4 per person fee for each event.) This is a circular 6 mile walk, moderate paced, with small ups/downs. This walk will be somewhat different from the previous walks in Princeton. THERE IS NO NEED TO POST WHY YOU CAN'T MAKE THE EVENT. If you are registered for this walk and can't attend, please change your RSVP online from "YES" to "NO". (PLEASE READ THE "ABOUT US SECTION" FOR THE GUIDELINES REGARDING THE NO SHOW POLICY.) Bring lunch, water, walking shoes, extra layer of clothing, sun protection. No young children or pets allowed on walk w/o prior approval of organizer. No smoking, please. If you have a personal matter/questions, please contact John, the Event Host, through his private Meetup account. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM MANHATTAN TO PRINCETON, NJ: At the NJ Transit section of NYC Penn Station, take 11:14 AM NJ Transit train (Northeast Corridor Line) from MANHATTAN to Princeton Junction, arriving Princeton Junction at 12:26 PM. You will then have to get off this train at the Princeton Junction train station & switch to a second train (a shuttle train, which runs from Princeton Junction to Princeton, which is one stop) located next to the platform of the Princeton Junction train station. (YOU WILL TAKE YOUR TRAIN TICKET WITH YOU.) The shuttle train leaves from the Princeton Junction train station at 12:31 PM, arriving Princeton at 12:36 PM. If the first train (Northeast Corridor Line) from NYC Penn Station makes the connection with the second train (the shuttle train), you will likely get to the meeting place early. However, if the first train (the Northeast Corridor Line) from NYC Penn Station is behind schedule (which is often the case) & doesn't make the connection with the second train (the shuttle train), you will just wait for the next available shuttle train to Princeton. This two-car train shuttles runs back & forth 2 times per hour. Before boarding the train at NYC Penn Station, buy a ticket at a NJ Transit ticket window or vending machine. Get a ticket from NYC Penn Station to Princeton, NJ on the Northeast Corridor Line (Regular fare is $17.75 one way; children/disabled/senior fare [62 years & older] is $8.20 one way); You might want to get a round-trip ticket. Purchasing a regular fare ticket on board the train is more expensive (about a $5 surcharge). However, children/disabled/seniors citizens [62 years & old] who show the proper identification may purchase a ticket on board the train w/o paying the penalty of the higher on board prices.
