We believe that every teacher deserves a fair go and should be entitled to work in a stress-free, protective environment. This group is specifically for English language teachers who have been mistreated by schools and universities in France. That includes those who have had to endure the hardship of working with vindictive administrations, have been 'thrown under the bus' by colleagues, always chasing up late payment or never being paid at all for work done, not paid for extra work, having been discriminated against by administrators, subordinated by schools then fired unfairly, have been bullied — the list seems endless. We will share experiences, good and bad, and offer each member support. We are not meeting up to complain for the sole sake of 'getting it off our chests'. We will listen to each other and find positive ways forward. No more meetings where things don't get done. No more hollow promises. No more wasting time. This is an action group, not a passive get together. We propose meeting at a central location in Paris at weekends for an hour and a half once a month where we can have discussion over a cup of coffee. In order to offset the cost of running this group, we ask for a minimal amount of 2€ at each session. We welcome English language teachers to come along. The group will be a maximum of ten at first so it's important that if you sign up then change your mind about coming along for whatever reason, please withdraw your rsvp. That way, a member on the wait list will be able to take your place.
