Your Language Exchange (El Carmen)
Chaque semaine le mercredi
Between 8pm and 10pm I like to make a structured language exchange, whereby we speak 20 minutes in English and 20 minutes in Spanish, so that whichever language you wish to practice you are guaranteed to be able to do that for 50% of the time, which I think is the fairest way of doing things. I also like to make sure we have at least one native English speaker on each table. If you do not have any conversational level in your weaker language then it could be ok for you to just practice your listening ability during this time so as to maintain the dynamic for the other people at your table. After 10pm you can chill out a bit more, and do whatever you like. I feel like this cators to both aspects of a language exchange meet up - language learning, and socialising - without one over-riding the other, as can easily happen. (So, after 10pm is the time for you guys that just want to meet people, not participate in a language exchange!) At 11pm there will be the option for us to leave to go watch live reggae music at Radio City, 5 minutes away. For those of you new to these kind of events, you don't need to worry about turning up late. It's normal in Spain. See you there! www.facebook.com/your.language.exchange
