Join New York Adventure Club ( http://www.nyadventureclub.com/ ) for a late night tour of the Museum of the American Gangster ( http://www.museumoftheamericangangster.org/ ) — located in one of NYC’s most notorious Prohibition-era speakeasies (known as Scheib’s Place), the goal of the museum is to objectively present the role that crime has played in shaping the politics, culture, myth and lore of New York City — and beyond. Our unique experience at the museum and former speakeasy will include: • An exploration of the history of Jewish and Italian gangsters, and their involvement in the city’s prohibition movement
• Encounters with prohibition-era objects such a Tommy gun and the death masks of John Dillinger
• A trip through the hidden and preserved spaces of the old speakeasy, including the former dance floor, bar, and basement where the owner once stashed millions in illegal cash. Stick around after the tour to (legally) order a drink at a portion of that very same prohibition-era speakeasy, today known as William Barnacle Tavern!
