Malouf's Mountain Sunset Campground, hiking and kayking on Hudson

I would like to invite members to spend last week of August before Labor Day weekend in one of scenic campgrounds of Dutchess County near Beacon. Only one hour and a half from GCT! You can take a train or leave a car (free on weekends) at the parking lot. We will need only sleeping bag and mat and min. camping gear and a shuttle will take us to the hike of our choice. Make RSVP 2 weeks in advance to receive your train tickets and choose of their discounted stays for 2 nights. For more info visit:
www.maloufsmountain.com or call[masked]. Price is based on whether you want to stay at the platform with tent, picnic table, camp kitchen and firewood or without it. On Saturday our plan will include hiking for 3 hours from drop off trail (medium hike) to campground stopping by at Reservoir and seeing few scenic views on Hudson, arriving to campground, setting up and preparing food on fire. It will take min. time, as people working in campground will put tent up and pump up our air mattress (if you have one) in advance while we hike. Firewood, starter and etc. will be prepared as well. As for food (raw meat, etc) you can order from them in advance or take it with you in a cooler and give it to them before hiking. They will bring to your campsite. The next day on Sun. after breakfast we will meet around 11:30 for departure hike to be no later than 12:30 at Trail Head for pick up for shuttle to Beacon Metro-North Station and parking lot.
We can do kayking right after dropping off. It is a short walk from station.
