Learn about Hudson River Park’s wildlife by joining experienced naturalists on a guided nature walk along the Hudson River Park’s esplanade. Hudson River Park is a 550-acre park and estuarine sanctuary from Chambers Street to W. 59th Street in Manhattan. It includes four miles of waterside esplanade, 16 reconstructed public piers to date, four dedicated boat houses for sailing, rowing and paddling and numerous other places to play, learn and relax.
One can connect with Hudson River Park's estuarine sanctuary to learn how this critical aquatic habitat supports many species of plants, fish and birds. *** During our walk, we will see the Park’s extensive plants and animals including over 100 different species of birds. Peek into some of our many gardens to discover butterflies, dragonflies and other interesting insects. Get to know the native plants that thrive in unexpected places in and around the river’s edge. Each nature walk is unique and offers a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt-like experience. Our experienced tour guide for the day will be one of the following individual's:
