After pitching the tent we will explore the area, will have free time. – Campfire & stargazing rest of the evening. Maine’s spectacular rocky coast is home to Acadia National Park, and some of the last pristine, star-filled night skies in the eastern United States. Here, the Milky Way shines brightly in the largest expanse of naturally dark sky east of the Mississippi. Overnight camping Day02 Schoodic Peninsula Today we will drive to Schoodic point. (1h.30m drive) The only part of Acadia National Park on the mainland and it has a six-mile one-way loop road filled with scenic views. There are also four hiking trails that traverse the area. Will explore some short hiking trails (one way) Alder Trail 0.6 mi Anvil Trail 1.1 mi East Trail 0.5 mi Schoodic Head Trail 0.6 mi Later while driving back we will stop by Bar Habor explore the town and have our dinner. Technically Bar Harbor is not a part of Acadia National Park, but a visit to the area would not be complete without a stopover to Bar Harbor. This small town is a classic New England fishing village. Overnight camping Day03 Cadillac Mountain Cadillac Mountain is the highest point along the North Atlantic coast and a great place to view some of the first rays of light that hit the United States. It also offers great views of the coastal and island landscape that is why Cadillac Mountain is one of the major destinations of the park, especially in the busy summer months. *Later We will drive around and explore other part of Acadia National Park*** Jordan Pond Scenic setting as two mountains, the North and South Bubble Mountains, stand sentinel over Jordan Pond. There is also a short trail that circumvents the pond and a restaurant with mouthwatering treats. Tide Pooling At low tide, another side of Acadia National Park is out there to discover. Tide pools along the shore teem with life, from marine animals to colorful algae tide pooling can be a great activity for families. Sand Beach Sand Beach is another popular destination in Acadia so if you want to miss the crowds go early or during the off-season but this beach with its spectacular scenery is a must see. Overnight Camping Day04 Beehive / Precipice Trails These two trails are not for everybody, but if you are physically fit and not afraid of heights then these two trails will give you the thrill and views of a lifetime. Iron rungs in the side of the granite cliffs allow hikers to ascend the exposed steep cliff faces and narrow ledges. The Park Road Acadia Park Road runs for 27 miles and begins at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and is the best way to get around the park as it connects Acadia National Park’s lakes, mountains, forests, and rocky coast. Sea Kayak Acadia National Park is a great place to sea kayak and choosing to get out on the water will give you a chance to escape the crowds and experience a different side of Acadia National Park.
