The Metropolitan Museum of Art is having an exhibit of Dutch Masters from the Dutch Golden Age beginning October 1st. Dutch paintings of the seventeenth century -- the Golden Age of Rembrandt, Hals, and Vermeer-- have been a highlight of The Met collection since its founding in 1870. The exhibit which opens October 1st will bring together some of the Museum's greatest paintings to present this remarkable chapter of art history in a new light. Artist and art historian Susan Altman will discuss the many indelible artists of this period and the many forms of art that they contributed from portraits to landscapes to still lifes to genre painting. Learn about the artists before you go to the exhibit. This program is free. No registration is necessary. Seats are on a "first come" basis.
