RESCHEDULED: Walk across the Highbridge and visit Morris-Jumel mansion + lunch
ven. 27 juillet à 17:00
Note: This event, originally planned for June 29, had to be rescheduled because the Morris-Jumel mansions repairs were not yet approved. As of July 10, the mansion is finally reopened! We'll walk across the oldest bridge in NYC, high above the Harlem River.
We will also visit the 1765 Morris-Jumel mansion atop Mount Morris -- the oldest house in Manhattan ($10 admission, or less if over 65 with i.d.) I will start at 10 a.m. from Union Sq/14th St. on the platform at the front of the #4 train. You may join me there, or at ANY STOP of the "4" (always at the front of the train), PROVIDED you notify me in advance. If you're coming from elsewhere, we can meet you at 11:00 at the uptown exit of the 170th St. stop of the "4" train (at Jerome Ave.) in the Bronx. Lunch at a "crazy" Harlem kitchen (under $20). This 2 mile walk involves hills and steps. Our typical pace is 20 minutes/mile.
