Join New York Adventure Club ( http://www.nyadventureclub.com/ ) as we explore Manhattan’s Civic Center, the site of New York’s civic institutions that have shaped law and public policy in the city and nation throughout the past 400 years. Led by Linda Fisher, a court stenographer for over 40 years, our unique experience will include: • A discussion around how Civic Center evolved from a stagnant pond to the complex web of “the due administration of justice” it is today
• A walk past the State and Federal Courts to highlight their architecture, along with their most famous civil and criminal cases
• A look at the Federal prison that holds some of the country’s most high-profile criminals, from terrorists, to organized crime figures, to Wall Street stock manipulators
• A trip inside Arraignment Part 1, an active courtroom, of the Criminal Court to view arraignment proceedings — since we’ll be going through security checkpoints, leave your weapons at the door! Click here to see pictures from one of our last trips!
