CKSL invites all of you for Residential Retreat in Bangalore with Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul!

“Those with less merit will not even have a doubt

In this Dharma (Of ultimate reality)

Should a doubt ever arise in someone,

Will shatter Samsara into pieces.” —Four Hundred Verses by Aryadeva

The retreat is based on the highly sophisticated and complex philosophical treatise, Chapter Nine of “A Guide to The Bodhisattva’s Way of Life” by Shantideva. This text is one of the most important spiritual and philosophical texts of Mahayana Buddhism. Shantideva systematically presented the understanding of the Buddha's insight into the ultimate nature of reality. Different views of reality have been explained in Chapter 9 which uproots the ignorance that is at the root of all disturbing emotions. Understanding this thus sets us free to nirvana.

"The Bark of Sugarcane has no Juice;

The delightful taste is inside.

People who chew the bark cannot

Discover the flavour of sugarcane.

Now the bark is like mere talk;

The taste is thinking about the meaning."
