Join us January 19 - 26, 2018 in the British Virgin Islands (BVI)!
This is the Winter/Spring to be in the BVI!
We will be cruising on a Lagoon 52 sailing catamaran and helping some people with repairs to their homes and taking school supplies and gifts to the local children. This in addition to our itinerary which includes the best of the BVI! Sample Itinerary
As you know, the Virgin Islands have been extremely damaged by 2 CAT5 hurricanes, Irma and Maria. There is now a tremendous amount of relief and supplies already delivered or on the way. However, the recovery process takes a LONG time and will soon be yesterday’s news.
If you have ever experienced recovering from a hurricane or other natural disaster, you know that there cannot be enough help over the next 6 months to a year.
We will be sailing to Jost Van Dyke to assist the school and the Methodist church with specific supplies and whatever we can do to help them during a day and half there. We are working with the Jost Van Dyke Preservation Society to make sure that our time and resources are used to the best advantage!
You can pitch in as much as you want to. We will be anchored in Great Harbour and White Bay, Jost Van Dyke with snorkeling and going to beaches and local beach bars/restaurants (like to patronize them to help give them business and rebuild the tourism based economy.)
After our stay in Jost, we will sail to Virgin Gorda (The Baths) and other islands like Peter, Norman and Anegada. During our December cruise, we found most of the beaches, reefs, bars/restaurants to be in good shape and the people excited to see us!
Suggest flying into St. Thomas (STT) and taking the ferry to Roadtown - the airport and ferries are in operation now. 3/12 - Boarding time is at 530PM at Hodges Creek Marina. We will disembark there by 10AM on 3/19
Provisions/beverages - we will discuss this with everyone before the cruise and plan on breakfasts/most lunches and, probably, half of the dinners on board - estimate $140-200/person for the week plus beverages.
There are 4 equal sized, spacious, air conditioned staterooms with a double bed and full head/shower.
Cost per stateroom is $3500, double occupancy -link for book your stateroom is below.
Have you been trying to figure out how to help the wonderful people of the Virgin Islands?
Sending money to the right charity is fantastic and needed, however being there and actually showing that you care and helping them will make a huge difference!
