ANOTHER POI WORKSHOP!!!
One of the origins of Poi comes from the Maori people who used them for rituals and celebrations as well as for physical development.
Poi in it's simplest definition is a ball attached to a tether.
Nowadays Poi is an engaging and fun activity, though the discipline develops strength, mobility, patience, fine muscle control, spatial awareness and right/left brain dissociation.
In this workshop, we will continue with the exploration of fundamental principals of Poi such as the 4 spinning modes, plane control and ambidexterity.
Whether you are looking for a new way to have fun in motion or you are looking to add diversity to your workout, Poi is an excellent choice.
All levels are welcome and no previous experience is required.
For the past 10 years Maher Safar has been researching with Poi focusing on the benefits of this practice and on the crossing points that it shares with disciplines such as tai-chi, object manipulation and movement. I've been lucky to share my passion for Poi and participate in the growth of this discipline in Lebanon for the past 5 years.
