This juried group exhibition in the main gallery space seeks out student artists whose work engages with the concept of time. Time. How is the passage of time represented? How does one capture it? Artworks often engage with time by capturing a moment and preserving it within the work. The concept of time (or temporality) can be incorporated into the work itself, through a focus on process, thereby activating aspects of temporality – past, present, and future.
The gallery supports the presentation of high quality visual and interdisciplinay contemporary art. For this exhibtion we are accepting proposals of work from student artists at Queen’s, both undergraduate and graduate. Submissions are not limited to a single genre. Painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, video, sound, performance and new media are welcome.
Note: Works in progress will be considered as long as applicants provide the selection team with a clear idea of the finished piece, and if selected, they must be completed by January 13, 2018.
Deadline for submissions: December 9, 2017, midnight. Submit packages electronically to email@example.com. (attn. Jocelyn Purdie) saved in one folder or as a PDF.
