A woman, searching for her place and identity, finds her expression in poetry. The words melt into music, movement and sound. The desire to express her full being, beats in the heart of every woman, who could not be everything, that she wanted, because the world only appreciated her for her external beauty and always overlooked her bravery, character and skills. That same woman, experiences herself, with every generation more and more, as a spiritual being. But despite her tenderness, the society still defines her as a beautiful woman, at most as a sexy warrior.
"You can risk your life for human rights or get up at 5am every day and work in unreasonable conditions, you can explore possibilities on the news, you can be an independent judge, journalist, researcher... you may never come back and die for your beliefs... but you will still end up in one of the two group of women -the more or less cute. And we will write about you: " Damn, she was so cute, wasn't she." This is a man's world."(Katja Fašink)
Izplesana is exploring different identities of women, who evolve and change in the course of their lives. Identities shine trough the play of roles and shift as the expectations of the society change. A woman as a product of market demands. Simple, beautiful, but preferably not too smart.
Trough all this time, dance remains present as a transcendental place of freedom, a place of rest and life. A place of art that (as often seen in the west), is not just there to satisfy the individual expression, but is also a celebration of the union between the artist and the transcendental.
In it's theoretical and movement concept, Izplesana takes us into the experiences of women and their movement. The choreography plays with movements of modern oriental dance, that bring the viewer inside, into the earthy movements of the woman’s torso, that are strengthened by the vocal expression. The movements are searching for the aesthetic meaning of beauty and the counterweight of grotesque in different shapes of movement, scenography and in parallel forms of movement (contemporary dance, aerial dance and elements of acrobatics).
