Shaibalaiba! Story Café, a cosy gathering of storytellers, first Thursday of every month. There is an open stage for anyone who has a story to tell, as well as featured guest storytellers every month. December’s Shaibalaiba! is arranged in co-operation with Alba SuomiFinland, an association that promotes storytelling as a healing art. Alba SuomiFinland is a part of the Alba Nordic alliance. Alba SuomiFinland organises storytelling workshops and other events.
Paulo de Tarso Silva is originally from Brazil. In 2003, he came to Europe with a simple plan: find work and learn English for a year. His journey took a different direction, and he has lived away from his home culture for nearly 15 years. Along the way, Paulo counted on the unexpected help of strangers. Before coming to Finland, Paulo lived in Ireland and the U.K. Today, Paulo works with ”Story Craft” and how stories influence people’s identity in different situations. Paulo believes that storytelling is a bridge to empathy. Paulo is an active member of the storytelling community, and in this event, he represents Alba SuomiFinland. ”Kindness of Strangers” as a theme will focus on life stories and metaphors about genuine connection amongst strangers.
